Monday, April 17
Motor coach transfer with our Siouxland Travel Representatives to the Omaha airport. Departure from Omaha to Charleston, SC. Spend three nights in the heart of Charleston’s historic district. (B,D)

Tuesday, April 18
Begin your morning with a full, hot breakfast. A local guide will highlight Charleston with the Citadel — South Carolina’s Military College, the Hunley replica, as well as Rainbow Row, White Point Gardens, The Charleston Battery, St. Michael’s Church, and the four Corners of Law — pending the amount of time allowed. After the City Tour, we will experience true Southern living by visiting Middleton Place — one of the grandest plantations that sits along the Ashley River. We will explore the Gardens, the House, and learn about the domestic lives of slaves and freedmen that lived and worked at Middleton Place. Top off this experience with a low country buffet, including southern favorites. You have the afternoon and evening free to explore Charleston on your own. (B,L)

Wednesday, April 19
This morning we will take a ferry ride to Fort Sumter National Monument where the first shot of the Civil War was fired in 1861.  Then we will begin our journey to Savannah. On the way, we will have a lunch stop and tour the Charleston Tea Gardens — the only tea garden in America! There will be one more stop outside the Tea Gardens at Angel Oak — the largest live Oak east of the Mississippi. It is estimated to be 300-400 years old! Then we will spend our first evening in Savannah with a group dinner. (B,L,D)

Thursday, April 20
Get a taste of the “Old South” with a trolley tour highlighting Savannah’s Historic District where your guide will narrate the history and culture of your surroundings — historic mansions, beautiful squares, and romantic riverfront promenade. Next we will drift through the famed, live-oak-lined squares of Savannah on a food tour.  We will learn its history, all the while eating decadent low country dishes. The rest of the afternoon and evening you are free to spend as you wish. (B,L)

Friday, April 21
This morning we will take in the historic home of Andrew Low — wealthy cotton merchant from Scotland. This home has rich history, including the founder of Girl Scouts USA. Next, we will see the Cathedral of John the Baptist — one of the oldest Roman Catholic Churches in Georgia. Our afternoon will be at nearby Tybee Island — one of Georgia’s barrier islands and a favorite vacation spot since the late 1800s. You will have time to relax and enjoy the coast and vibrant downtown. We will take a dolphin tour by boat. Keep your eyes on the water because you will be looking for pods of dolphins. They love diving and playing in the wake of the boat. A trip to the coast isn’t complete without a stop at a lighthouse. (B, L)

Saturday, April 22
After enjoying a full, hot breakfast, we will head to the Savannah airport with the many wonderful memories of our adventure. (B)
