ITINERARY
TUESDAY, JULY 6 Motor coach transfer from Orange City with your Siouxland Travel Representative to our designated airport. Fly to Calgary and meet our private motor coach transfer to the hotel. Free time to explore this afternoon and the option to enjoy the Calgary Tower with stellar views from 525 feet above the city. A special welcome dinner is planned for tonight. (D)
WEDNESDAY, JULY 7 Enjoy a hot breakfast before boarding the motor coach for our transfer to Banff including a full day of sightseeing. Highlights include the Hoodoos rock formations, Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and Tunnel Mountain Drive. Upon arrival in Banff, we will ascend Sulphur Mountain in a record breaking eight minutes on the Banff Gondola and get a bird’s-eye view of six mountain ranges. Enjoy a spectacular scenic 1-hour boat cruise on Lake Minnewanka. Once we arrive at Banff National Park, we will check into our mountain lodge hotel, our home for the next two nights. (B)
THURSDAY, JULY 8 After breakfast we will board our private motor coach for a full day tour along the magnificent Icefields Parkway. This ice field is one of the largest accumulations of ice south of the Arctic Circle. We will tour the Athabasca Glacier in a giant six-wheel drive Ice Explorer while learning of its ancient history and unique geological features. End the night with a stroll on the Glacier Skywalk with spectacular scenery and a rare view of nature at unbelievable new heights. (B,D)
FRIDAY JULY 9 This morning, savor breakfast before heading out for our full-day tour including Lake Louise area and Yoho National Park. We will admire magnificent natural wonders like the Spiral Tunnels, the turquoise serene waters of Emerald Lake, and a natural Rock Bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. We will arrive and check-in to the iconic Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. You will be surrounded by soaring mountain peaks, the majestic Victoria Glacier and a glistening emerald lake. Our home for the next 2 evenings will be one to remember. (B)
SATURDAY, JULY 10 Soak up the lake view with breakfast at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Today, experience some freedom on your own, relax and explore this beautiful area. Tonight we will enjoy dining together as a group at one of the amazing restaurants at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. (B,D)
SUNDAY, JULY 11 Rise and shine! We will get an early start this morning as we head to the station to board our luxury train. Travel from the heart of the Canadian Rockies to Kamloops. We will relax in the all-inclusive comfort of our luxurious Rocky Mountaineer coach, as we gaze in wonder at cascading waterfalls and icy glaciers spilling over the lips of the peaks above us. We will marvel at man’s ingenuity as the train enters the Spiral Tunnels, bored through solid rock beneath a mountain over a century ago. We will arrive in Kamloops, our hotel for the evening where you are free to explore the city or relax at the hotel. (B,L on the train)
MONDAY, JULY 12 On today’s journey west, we will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the desert-like environment of the Interior, through winding river canyons and pristine forests to the Coast and Cascade Mountains and the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley. Highlights include the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River and the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate, a narrow canyon where the volume of water rushing through is about three times greater than Niagara Falls. We will enjoy gourmet food and drink along the way before arriving in Vancouver in the early evening, our home for the next two nights. We
will board our private transfer to the hotel and enjoy a free evening to explore this beautiful city. (B ,L)
TUESDAY, JULY 13 Enjoy a hot breakfast this morning before we head out for our sight-seeing tour of Vancouver’s North Shore with breathtaking views of the city, ocean and surrounding mountains. Highlights include a walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge (450 ft long and 230 ft high) and a ride on the Grouse Mountain Skyride. We will finish the day with a special group farewell dinner. WEDNESDAY, JULY 14 After breakfast, we will head to the airport by private transfer for our journey home. (B)
