Kendra Kroese

Join us in 2023 as we explore some of Alaska’s most magnificent must see destinations and hidden treasures. With its breathtaking coastline carved by massive tidewater glaciers over thousands of years, iconic wildlife in their natural habitats, and a fascinating native culture, this Great Land will amaze, engage and delight you. We will spend seven nights on land as we visit beautiful Whittier, where we will cruise spectacular Prince William Sound and enjoy the vast glaciers and wildlife. We will visit Anchorage, the quaint town of Talkeetna, and then head deep into the heart of Denali National Park and Preserve, the jewel in Alaska’s crown. At six million pristine acres, the Park is home to moose, caribou, mountain sheep, grizzly bears and North America’s highest peak, Mt. Denali, more than 20,000 feet high. To top things off, we will also be taking the iconic Katmai Bear Viewing tour. This is the ultimate Alaskan Vacation you will never forget!

We will take in the splendor of Denali and the great Alaska Range from a spectacular vantage point on the Susitna River! The folklore, artifacts, and panoramic views combine to make this unique 20-mile Alaska river adventure unforgettable. This evening, we will head back to the lodge which offers the best of Alaska inside and out. Outside, you are at the doorstep of outdoor adventures. Inside, there’s a crackling fire in a giant river rock fireplace, and a carefully curated selection of Native art in the boutique. (B, D)

Friday, July 28
After a wonderful Alaskan Breakfast, there will be a chance to go Salmon fishing early this morning as an added excursion. We will then board the Gold Star Glass Domed Alaska Railroad for our beautiful, narrated ride to Denali National Park. The unforgettable route crosses the Susitna River and then heads into a remote valley among the Talkeetna Mountains. The route comes ever closer to Denali — at one point within just 40 rugged miles of the mountain! At Broad Pass, the route opens into a taiga plateau before pulling into Denali. A short hike after dinner would be the perfect ending to a busy day. We will spend the next two nights at the Denali Bluffs Hotel. (B, L, D)
