Join us July 31 – August 7 2024 as we explore some of Alaska’s most magnificent must see destinations and hidden treasures. With its breathtaking coastline carved by massive tidewater glaciers over thousands of years, iconic wildlife in their natural habitats, and a fascinating native culture, this Great Land will amaze, engage and delight you. We will spend seven nights on land as we visit beautiful Whittier, where we will cruise spectacular Prince William Sound and enjoy the vast glaciers and wildlife. We will visit Anchorage, the quaint town of Talkeetna, and then head deep into the heart of Denali National Park and Preserve, the jewel in Alaska’s crown. At six million pristine acres, the Park is home to moose, caribou, mountain sheep, grizzly bears and North America’s highest peak, Mt. Denali, more than 20,000 feet high. To top things off, we will also be taking the iconic Katmai Bear Viewing tour. This is the ultimate Alaskan Vacation you will never forget!

Wednesday, July 31

Motor coach transfer from Orange City with your Siouxland Travel Representatives to the Minneapolis airport. Departure from Minneapolis on a nonstop flight to Anchorage. Upon arrival, enjoy a deluxe motor coach to the breathtaking town of Seward where we will spend the night.

Thursday, August 1

After breakfast we will take the shuttle to Seward. We will enjoy a little free time to explore Seward before boarding the Kenai Fjord’s Small Boat Tour. Lunch will be served on this tour. Viewing glaciers, gliding by seals, whales and puffins plus hearing the Captain’s knowledge as he narrates the tour will be an unforgettable day. Dinner at a local waterfront restaurant. (B,L,D)

Friday, August 2
After breakfast we will hike to Exit Glacier. You will enjoy some free time in Seward before heading back north. We will travel via motor coach to Anchorage. We will have dinner with views of float planes landing and taking off. (B,L,D)

Saturday, August 3

This morning we will have the opportunity to go on an amazing bear viewing tour at Katmai National Park. Katmai is one of the premier brown bear viewing areas in the world. At Katmai, visitors will enjoy unparalleled viewing opportunities. This is truly a day you will never forget! After spending the day at Katmai, we will fly back to Anchorage for dinner. (B,L,D)

Sunday, August 4

After breakfast we will head to Happy Trails Kennels. There we will meet an Iditarod champion, explore the training facility, meet the athletes and the stars of Happy Trails, the dogs. Lunch will be catered onsite. We will head to the quaint village of Talkeetna where we will travel on the wilderness Jet Boat Adventure. The folklore, artifacts and panoramic views combine to make this unique 20 mile Alaska river adventure unforgettable. We will enjoy a delicious dinner at the Talkeetna Lodge while viewing the breathtaking sights of Mount Denali. (B,L,D)

Monday, August 5

After a hearty breakfast we will board the Gold Star Glass Domed Alaska Railroad for our beautiful narrated ride to Denali National Park. The unforgettable route crosses the Susitna River and then heads into a remote valley among the Talkeetna Mountains. The route comes ever closer to Denali – at one point within just 40 rugged miles of the mountain! Upon arriving in Denali, we will check into our hotel. Tonight we have a delicious dinner at our hotel. (B,L,D)

Tuesday, August 6

Travel deep into the heart of Denali National Park for our comprehensive Half-Day Tundra Wilderness Tour. Incredible scenery, a narrated history of the park road, and some of the best opportunities to view the park’s wildlife inhabitants await you. We hope to see them all! The afternoon is free to experience Denali Village or head to the Visitor Center for a dog demonstration. To end this spectacular day you can enjoy the Music of Denali Dinner Theatre. (B,L,D)

Wednesday, August 7

We will have an early morning and travel by motor coach back to Anchorage before our noon flight to Minneapolis. Upon arrival in Minneapolis we will catch our motorcoach back to Orange City. (B)
