| About Us |
Cruising has become a top choice of travel in recent years. It is one of the best vacation bargains. In addition, cruising offers complete relaxation and pampering - just how vacations should be! A cruise ship is like a floating resort with all the finest. You don't have to worry about anything as everything is right in front of you. Planning a cruise vacation can be difficult as there are a variety of itineraries, ships and costs. Siouxland Travel has a cruise package for every budget in all parts of the world. Prices change daily so do not hesitate to call!
What is included in a cruise package?
• The price of your cruise includes ship accommodations, ocean transportation, meals, some beverages and most
entertainment on the ship. Some of the amenities not covered in the cruise price but may be purchased before
or on the ship are transfers, shore excursions, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, spa treatments, casino, phone
calls, medical treatments and tips.
Is a cruise a good option for a family?
• Yes! Some cruise lines are very family friendly offering special programs just for kids ranging from youth to teens. Enjoy time with the family in the many activities on the ship while taking special alone time out just for mom and dad.
Do I need a passport?
• Passports are required for all travelers traveling by AIR between the United States and Canada, Mexico, Central America and South America. Rules and regulations on when you need to have passports changes. Please contact Siouxland Travel with any questions or find the most up-to-date information at: http://travel.state.gov/
Are tips and gratuities included?
• Typically they are not included in your cruise price. The rates normally are $10/person per day. The charges are automatically charged to your credit card unless otherwise specified.
What are port charges?
• They are taxes and fees from the government and other agencies charged to the cruise lines for using the port to be docked in. Port charges include costs for entering and leaving ports as well as costs while in port such as payroll and waste removal. This is included in the price of the cruise, however sometimes a price is quoted or advertised without the port charges and they must be added.
Will I get seasick?
• There is no way of knowing for sure as each person is different. A way to avoid is purchasing the motion sickness pills or wristbands; make sure to get non-drowsy as you do not want to sleep your vacation away.
What should I pack?
• Days onboard are casual and you will be most comfortable in sports clothes and resort wear. Pack extra swim wear, so you will always have a dry one. Towels are provided on the ship. In the evening plan on three types:
Casual-dresses or slacks and a dressy top for women; polo shirts and dress pants for men.
Formal-cocktail dresses for women; suit and tie or tuxedos for men.
Smart Casual-dresses or pantsuits for women; sports jackets for men.
When should I arrange my shore excursions?
• Once you have made your full payment on your cruise you are free to set up your shore excursions. Shore excursions can be booked online anytime before 14 days prior to the departure or they can be booked on the ship. Siouxland Travel can assist you in booking shore excursions prior to your departure.
How far in advance should I make my reservations?
• Most of the cruise lines begin taking reservations 18 months in advance. Some will even offer early booking discounts. Depending on the time of year and where you go it is a good idea to book early as some of the popular sailings will sell out early.
